Here are some reason why moving to Parkland, Fl is a great idea
I’ll never forget the day of the Parkland massacre. I was sitting in my office working as usual when one of my co-workers ran up to me and said: “put on the news” with a frantic voice. As I began watching I couldn’t believe what my eyes were seeing. It was like a scene out of a movie. Never in a million years did I think a school shooting would happen in my town, especially Parkland, FL.
As many know Parkland, Fl is rated one of the safest cities in South Florida, and it still is. The truth is this could have happened anywhere, and that doesn’t change the fact that Parkland is a great place to live. It’s been amazing to see my town come together as they did.
In honor of the students and heroes, there were concerts, marches, and people donating their time and money. Seeing a town come together as it did is a fantastic thing to experience. It brought together people with differences, and it wasn’t about politics. The school shooting left a hole in a lot of hearts, but we still stand #MSDSTRONG. In this article, we will give you 5 reasons to move to Parkland, FL.
1. Parkland is beautiful
I moved to Parkland, FL from Coral Springs which is not too far; however, it still feels like a new town to me. The landscaping is well manicured, maintained and beautiful. I’ve been living there for three years, but always admire the beauty every day. Parkland is a residential community, so you won’t see any billboards or sleazy looking businesses around town. There are a couple of great golf courses, local shops and the best supermarket in South Florida (Publix).
I personally live in a community called Watercrest. Watercrest is a great neighborhood for young families with children. It’s nice to walk outside, speak to my neighbors and watch the kids play outdoors like we used to. Moving to Parkland was a great decision for us. 2. Great for outdoor activities
There are many reasons why moving to Parkland is a good idea. However, one of my favorite things about living here is enjoying the outdoors. Parkland is an excellent place for golf, fishing, biking or just enjoying some time at Pine Trails (local park). Parkland is home to some fantastic golf courses like Parkland Golf & Country Club and Heron Bay. The greens are kept beautiful, and Heron Bay offers a golf range open until 10 pm (with lights). Since Parkland is on basically on the Everglades, it’s a great place to catch bass, snakeheads and possibly even some alligators =). The community is very scenic so you will always see bikers and joggers out at all hours of the day. If you’re an outdoors person, Parkland is a great place to live. If you’re planning on hiring a mover to get you here beware of moving scams in Florida.
3. Parkland is a safe place to live
Despite the recent chain of events at Marjory Stoneman Douglas, Parkland is safe. It is ranked in the top four safest places to live in South Florida, according to Niche. I’m a father of three children, and we moved here specifically because of the low crime rate and top-rated schools. It’s a family oriented community with excellent school and sports programs for the kids. You can go for a late night jog and feel safe in Parkland. The most I’ve seen since living here are a couple of car break-ins, which you can expect in any residential area, and some minor burglary attempts. 5. The 5th reason why moving to Parkland is great – The wildlife is pretty cool
Parkland is built on the Everglades. Every now and again you’ll see a rare animal such as a Coyote, Fox and even some large alligators. On January 1st, 2019 they captured a Puma in front of a residence which was pretty impressive. Every now and again I’ll take my kids down Loxahatchee road to go fishing for bass and snakeheads. If you’re from a metropolitan area, it may shock you at first, but you get used to it. I enjoy walking out of my backyard and seeing the beautiful birds. To me, it’s very serene and I enjoy the wildlife here.
